Cinderheart Burl

Some fires never completely go out.

Cinderheart Burl begins with an incredible end piece of maple burl loaded with natural character. Dark black streaks cut through the wood while bands of fiddleback catch the light and shift across the surface, giving the piece movement before you ever make the first cut.

At the top, a small section of fiery lava orange/red acrylic spills into the burl like the last glowing pocket of heat buried beneath charred wood.

The contrast is what makes this piece special—warm natural maple, smoky black streaking, shimmering fiddleback, and one concentrated burst of molten color.

As an end piece, its irregular natural character becomes part of the design, giving the maker plenty to discover as the material is shaped and finished.
